Why do so many Web2Print implementations fail, or are abandoned?

IN OUR EXPERIENCE, THESE ARE THE TOP REASONS WEB-TO-PRINT PROJECTS FAIL:

  • Strategy: Why are you doing it?... what is the business objective?... to grow more business, save money, reduce touchpoints, OR simply because someone asked?

  • Target audience: B2B or B2C. Do you want lots of small "one-off", price-sensitive orders from strangers, or to build client loyalty and % of print spend?

  • Fear response: "We put it in for our top client, and he's not using it", OR "... the client we put it in for has pulled his business". Perhaps you were too late and he was already "halfway out the door". But WHY do it for one client anyway?.. it should be for ALL your clients.

  • Marketing: "Build it and they will come" - Uh, no they don't! That's when the hard work starts - telling people about it, getting rankings, SEO, email marketing, site visits to clients.

  • Integration: "It looked GREAT in the demo...", but then you find out the job of integrating it to your MIS is time-consuming, technical, costly, limited, and "clunky". Don't fall for the "We've got an API for that..." blanket response.

  • Expertise/cost of ownership: It requires too much time, effort and technical expertise to maintain, different databases, hosting costs, click-charges, and you need HTML/JavaScript knowledge to make it work!

...IS YOUR WEB-TO-PRINT REALLY WEB-TO-NOWHERE?

That's why we wrote our own Web2Print buyer's guide. It goes through the jargon, the questions to ask, your due diligence, and the potential pitfalls:

The guide will teach you:

  • Evaluation steps

COVID HAS SHOWN US: WEB-TO-PRINT IS NO LONGER OPTIONAL - IT'S ESSENTIAL!
